Fun with Family

We had a fun week end visiting Joel, Nancy and Hailey. John, Joshua, Emma and Sophia came to visit on Saturday while we were there. Here are some highlights.

When we got home there were deer in the yard. They left when we drove up, but were back very soon! Princess is oblivious. We don't really want another dog, but we are begining to wonder.

More Animals

Princess got her last (Lord willing) bandage this morning. The cut was almost completely healed.

It's hard to see the color, but her new bandage is purple!

I took down the tree skirt this morning. Sorry Anna!! We will have to plan another one next time you visit.

This little guy was hiding under the skirt!

The strange bird I told you about came to the feeder this morning. I think I said his head was black, but it is more dark grey. I got some pictures, but they aren't very good because he decided to stay on the ground. The picture was taken through the window with a screen. Hopefully you can get an idea of what he looks like.

Any ideas about what he might be?

Family Fun

I haven't said that Beth, Zane, Miranda and Isaac have been visiting the past few days. We didn't do much except watch the Olympics.

Yesterday we went to Emma's fifth birthday party!

All the cousins had fun playing together.

Animals

We have had some interesting things happen with animals around our house.

The first thing is that Princess has been sporting colorful bandages on her leg. She cut her leg a few weeks ago, but with a trip to the vet and some attention from Nana and Granddaddy she is much better. We should be able to take the bandage off by the end of the week.

The second thing that has been going on is that the hummingbirds have been eating like crazy. They have also been chasing each other around the house. They must be getting ready to fly across the Gulf of Mexico!

The other birds like this female cardinal and male goldfinch have enjoyed the seeds we put out. There has been a strange bird that has been coming to the feeder. The first time I saw him I thought he was a grossbeak. Grandma Nesbit said he is a cardinal. He is not as bright red as a male cardinal and has a solid black head and no tuft. Hopefully I can get a picture soon and show you.

The last thing is Patches thinks all this is pretty boring!
